With the announcement of the SIAI Blog, we wanted to begin by sharing our latest news:
1. We have released the first video about our philanthropic purpose, including interviews with Dr. Aubrey de Grey, Peter Thiel, Dr. Barney Pell, Christine Peterson, and more:

2. We were fortunate to have the SIAI video picked up by Digg (one of the 100 most visited websites), with 350 diggs and 82 comments to date, many of which are quite entertaining.
3. A new video in the SIAI Interview Series has been released, with SIAI Research Fellow Eliezer Yudkowsky discussing his research on Friendly AI and other topics.
4. Dr. Rodney Brooks and Dr. Peter Norvig have joined our growing lineup of speakers for the Singularity Summit 2007 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on September 8th - 9th. Dr. Brooks is Director of the MIT Computer Science and AI Laboratory; Dr. Norvig is Director of Research at Google. An updated Summit 2007 website will be online shortly.
5. Cameron Reilly, CEO of The Podcast Network, has released a podcast with Eliezer.
6. We have matched $84,722 out of a possible $400,000 to date during the 2007 SIAI Matching Challenge. Donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar until July 6th.
For our supporters, the following are a few ways you can help SIAI:
- Add a positive comment at the SIAI video YouTube page.
- Email individuals you think may be interested in SIAI, and post to relevant mailing lists.
- Share with others our interview with Peter Thiel, so that they can see the increasing weight behind SIAI’s mission. The video covers a lot of ground in only 22 minutes.
- Add http://singinst.org to your email and forum signature files.
- Share the Singularity Institute PDF, and encourage people to read Why Work Toward the Singularity? and AI as a Positive and Negative Factor in Global Risk.
- Share the Singularity Institute video with your family, friends, and acquaintances. Ask them to watch the video to learn more about a philanthropic cause that you value.
