This is an excellent grand overview of the likly role of solar in the mix of alternative energies in the near term. As usual, Kurzweil presents a unique and optimistic vision of our future. Leadership requires vision, and Kurzweil articulates a positive vision better than anyone else.

I wonder why the singularity people still see the singularity as something that we will see on a computer screen. With advancing technology our brains will be wired to chips and all sorts of communication hardware. Our brains will be part of internet and we will not nead our eyes or ears any more to surf on the web or talk to the singularity. Telepathy will become reality just the way our today_computers do not need a screen to exchange picture or videos.
